BUS 330: CORPORATE FINANCE

This course provides students with the fundamentals of corporate finance which enables participants to understand what capital funds the business needs, how these funds are obtained, and how they are managed. At the end of the course, the student should understand and be able to make managerial decisions about: 1) capital budgeting, 2) capital structure, 3) how to calculate the cost of capital from various sources, 4) how to manage and minimize the use of working capital, and 5) how to evaluate the outcomes of bankruptcy and merger. This introductory course is intended to present conceptual issues in financial decision making as well as mathematical analysis, therefore practicing problems, reading the text, solving cases, and actively participating in class discussions should lead to optimal understanding of the basic principles of financial management.
